A time and place is set for the intervention to occur.  The individual is addressed with love, care, and concern for their well-being.  An interruption of the cycle of addiction takes place, and the truth is told in a compassionate but firm and unwavering way.  Typically, the addict, with the love and support of family and friends, chooses wellness over the disease and agrees to immediately go to treatment.
Regardless of the outcome of the intervention, lives are changed forever because choices are restored, and new boundaries are set.  These two factors influence all aspects of an addict’s treatment and recovery from this time forward.
